The main premise of the card game is to be given cards totaling up to twenty-one. Every blackjack player is given two cards. When a player is given a nine or less and an Ace they’ve been given a soft hand. When the black jack player receives no Ace it is known as a hard hand. Once the cards have been given to every player at the blackjack table, which includes the dealer, each black jack player is given the opportunity to make 1 of 6 decisions:
Taking another card (Hit): When a blackjack player says "hit" the dealer will give them another card, if the adding of that card makes the value of the hand to exceed 21 the blackjack player will have busted and that is the end of the game, if the card makes the value of the hand to 21 the player will be the winner and if the total has not yet achieved twenty one they are still in the game.
Keeping the hand you’ve been dealt: If a player is happy with the hand they will stay. Once this has happened the croupier will reveal his or her hand and the gambler who has accumulated twenty-one or the closet to 21 will come away with a win.
Doubling Down: A gambler may ask to double down which doubles the bet they have laid. Once you’ve taken this procedure you can only receive 1 more card. The specifics of doubling down are usually specified by the blackjack table or casino rules so before wagering be certain you are familiar with the house game rules. If you’re competing at a web casino this is normally very simple.
Stay tuned for part 2.
